The Expandable Rubber Drum Wheel is a versatile tool that can be used to achieve smooth and highly polished stones. This product is designed to grip sanding or polishing belts with its soft and pliable rubber surface that expands during rotation. The drumwheel can be easily adjusted by sliding the belts from the drum, allowing for quick changes.This product is perfect for low-speed applications as the flexible surface can wrap around curved surfaces for increased contact with the workpiece. At high speeds, the drum surface acts like a hard rubber grinding wheel, making it ideal for a variety of applications. Use with diamond or silicon carbide belts for best results.The heavy machined hubs are supplied with bushings to fit 1”, 3/4”, 5/8” and 1/2” arbors. Angled expansion slots through the heavy rubber rim allow the drum to expand when rotated, thereby locking the belt in place. Belts can be quickly changed by stopping the machine, slipping off the old one, and sliding on the new.In use, the resilient drum surface flexes to the gemstone's contour to quickly remove grinding flats. The convex-shaped drum provides the cutting action necessary to remove scratches. Sold without a belt, the maximum recommended speed is 1800 RPM.

CAUTION: Do not run the drum without belts in place as damage to the rubber rim may result.The Expandable Rubber Drum Wheel is available in different sizes, including 6"x1.5", 6"x2.5", and 8"x3". Belts are sold separately and are available in different widths and lengths to suit the different drum sizes. This product is perfect for lapidary work, woodworking, metalworking, and more.
